Subject: Structural Solar completes 425 KW Installation on top of Parking Deck, Oahu HI
Release: Structural Solar LLC announced the completion of a 1330 module -425 KW Solar Canopy in Hawaii. The project installed atop of a previously constructed parking deck was completed for Photonworks Engineering, Hawaii this past November. The steel structure was erected on roof of a cast-in-place (CIP) parking deck located in the Honolulu suburb of Salt Lake. As part of its subcontract agreement with PhotonWorks Engineering, a leading solar developer and installer in Hawaii, Structural Solar designed and fabricated the hot dipped galvanized steel structure to cover approximately 85% of the parking deck and supplied the integrated aluminum racking components as a “module ready structure”. The overall structure spanned 125’ over two bays on 3 levels of the cast in place parking deck. According the company’s President, Robert Pegnato, the installation was challenging due to restricted site access and material handling logistics but the crew and Photonworks management were exceptionally competent and the installation went well. Structural Solar expects to complete at least 9 additional projects in Hawaii in 2016.
